Post on Titles and font use

Process:

Nia searched on YouTube for a background for our titles and she found a video that was royalty free, showing black ink dripping into a cup of water to create an eerie effect as it works well as a background for the titles. On the other hand although the white was nice I felt as though it would be more difficult to read the titles as we wanted the text to be either white or black which would be an issue as it would blend with this background.
Again she searched for a royalty free pattern on google to layer it on top of the video to darken it which will make it appear more creepier. Once she added the patter over the video she reduced the opacity down to blend both together. I feel dark colours work best for the titles and the ink dropping slowly into the water makes it seem mystifying, this sort of background has been used in most horror trailers, so by using a similar background we’re following conventions. So once that process of combining the two layers had been done she then inserted text into it, then she exported this to add onto the trailer.
